FaceTime video calls are the best way to reunite distant families, but unfortunately, they are so short that you can’t record conversations in the app so that you can try it again later. Not only does this feature help you with your chances at a particular home, but it’s also a convenient and effective way to create a podcast if you and your co-host cannot be in the same room at the same time.

Let’s get started because the Mac side is dull. FaceTime calls on mobile devices are more frequent than Macs, but it’s worth switching to a Mac if you’re recording calls. If not in the Dock, open the application and open it.

Screen recording has been added to the iOS 11 Control Center. However, for legal reasons, note that it was intentionally designed to capture video in some applications rather than capturing audio. It is one of the apps that does not need to record FaceTime audio.

First, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the Control Center. (Swipe on the iPad to open the Dock. If you continue to work, you’ll see the full screen, including the thumb of your recent apps dock and control center.) Make sure you have the screen recording icon. This is a small icon, a circle with a large white ring around it.

Setting

If it doesn’t exist, you need to go to “Settings” and instruct iOS to display the “Control Center” screen recording feature. Go to Settings> Control Center> Custom Controls, scroll down, and click the green plus sign next to the screen recording.

Return to the home screen, open the Control Center and tap the screen recording icon (a 3-second countdown is displayed, and a red bar appears at the top of the screen indicating that recording is in progress). Start a FaceTime call. When done, swipe above to return to Control Center and finally click the record icon to save the video to your photos.

In addition to being quiet, I was able to see that this process was also a hassle. Sometimes I started recording the screen and asked to start a fellow FaceTime call, but after accepting the invitation, I ended the recording.

Finally, add an alternative that can record only one side of the audio and not the other. Pressing the screen recording icon hard will record the audio you can choose to activate your device’s microphone. Sound.

Connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac, unlock your iDevice, and open QuickTime on your Mac. Choose File> Record New Movie.
